How can an IT consulting firm help any business scale?

Many companies today face inadequate or limited technical infrastructure due to outdated hardware, software, or patched-up systems that don’t function efficiently, hindering their efforts to grow. 

One such company, a global management consulting firm, realized its IT department needed an overhaul as its business demands evolved. 

To help optimize its IT systems, it hired BRF Consulting (BRF), in partnership with Red Pill Analytics (RPA), who assigned Data Engineer Felipe Novais to the role for the past 4 years.

At the outset, Novais was assigned to:

1. Maintain and optimize this company’s existing data ingestion pipelines.

   
   

2. Assist with the design and implementation of new pipe

   lines and support migrating legacy data transformation logic to dbt. 

   
   

3. Establish more standardized, scalable, and maintainable ETL processes.

Novais has successfully developed and deployed all three tasks by leveraging technologies such as AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, GitHub, and Jenkins. 

The results have been outstanding. “These contributions have led to a more efficient and stable data infrastructure [across the company],” Novais explains.

In fact, this BRF/RPA project has stood out for its well-structured development processes, including strong governance, version control practices, and deployment standards. 

“[Our consulting work with this client] serves as a solid benchmark for implementing best practices in data engineering,” Novais says.  “It can be used as a reference model for improving data projects in other organizations.
